Debbie Schlussel wrote about our bringing some of folks from India here. She didn't call us or even do her homework. I left her a comment on her blog which I've pasted in below.
Debbie,
I wish you actually took the time to investigate things before writting such an article. Our company is not bringing anyone over on an H1(b) visa. We are applying to an L1 - intercompany transfer. We have applied to the INS like all company's and they can approve or deny our applications.
On a more political level I think you are not seeing the forest through the trees here. On balance because of this action we are bringing more jobs back to the US by 3x (translate as hiring more US citizens) than the small 7 folks we have to transfer here from our India office. However, in order to create the least disruption our ability to bring these 7 folks here is key to our ability to bring 21 more jobs to the US.
In any event, next time call me before you write so a least you get the type of visa right.
Reverse offshoring is complicated and the key to the US welcoming back jobs is going to be some required flexibility in allowing the key employees to transfer back in order to provide the least disruption.

munjal,
I think you can leave debbie to her ignorance. She obviously doesn't know how a firm is run and how you need people who have worked and _know_ the product before hiring new hires. She should probably just movie reviews.

I agree with Sam. That thread is filled with ignorant thoughts, with little gems like this:
"The sad thing is you went offshore and more than likely fired all your American workers before you left and now you are coming back to the good old USA bringing foreign workers with you that more than likely cost you less than willing American workers."
*shakes head*

That article is sad on so many levels:
"I realized price expectations were too high," Mr. [Azhar] Khan [the Muslim VP of the company] says.
"the Muslim VP" - i'm sorry, but she is not a reporter - and you don't need to even waste a second responding to her

I love it! I don't know how someone can be so ignorant and stupid :)
Reminds me of the old fortune cookie -
Don't argue with a fool, they drag you down to their level and then beat you with the experience.
Just FYI - The L1 stuff will take anywhere between 6-12 months (depending on the category) to materialise.

Dear munjal,
May this is wrong place to comment, but then, i thought, may this way i could reach you.
I have been trying to reach for so long. I really admire you a lot for the greatest work you have done with Riya and now with Like.com. I am biggest fan of Riya.
I had used Riya api to create some web and desktop application.
1. A desktop wall paper change called MeyshanWall (my baby son name is meyshan http://www.meyshan.com) i have released this software recently in open source you can see this here. http://gallery.yahoo.com/apps/11186/locale/en
2. Secondly, I used similar to above application, but this time, a slide show changer, using Riya for websites. you can see this here.. http://gallery.yahoo.com/apps/10947/locale/en
3. Thirdly I have developed a website, just launched yesterday, here i use riya for people create slideshow greeting with the personalized message and music. http://www.spicypipes.com, I use open id here, so one need open id to log in, This site uses wordpress.
In all the above application i use, other than Riya, Picasa, 23 Hq, and Flickr.
Please check and give your comments,
I wonder why blog.riya.com is down.
regards

Hi munjal,
I saw your blog post as well Ms. Debbie. Before I would put my views either here or Ms. Debbie's (cancel that, not worth posting anything there) decided to take a look at her site. Looking a cursory look at most of the blog posts she comes up as a certain community-hater. She goes as far as questioning & asking people's political views & what not and if people didn't answer her assuming their answers & motivations for doing that. She also thinks of herself as a dictator or somebody who can make a call on lots of things, I do hope not just for her or America but civilized world at large that people who are in immigration are more impartial than her otherwise States for sure would be in dire straits soon ;)

That Debbie Schlussel article is a joke. You can easily tell site user demographics just by reading the comments most of her readers have posted on her blog. The comments reference 'muslims and terrorists' in relation to this article. In this day an age, that is a very narrow minded view. We work in a global environment where there is a pool of talent to choose from, so if someone wants to hire someone from Luxemborg - so be it! When is the last time a CEO had to explain their position to a Blogger.
