You're Invited: Our Launch Party

Michael Arrington of Techcrunch has just been super. He has been so gracious in offering us his house for our launch. A few weeks ago he and I were at a lavish .dotcom-esque launch party in S.F. and he asked me about a launch party for Riya. I said, "After having lived through the first .dotcome era and seen so much money wasted, I just couldn't do it again." He said, "Why don't you have at my house and we can have a great time without spending a ton of money." For those of you who don't know, Michael's place and his Friday parties have become the epicenter of Web 2.0. I was honored that we could launch our company in what I consider the birthplace of Web 2.0. I said, "Pizza and Beer?" He said of course. Michael from one old Web 1.0 guy - Thank you for hosting our party. Having our party at your house is the perfect combination of the fiscal prudence and the community that makes a great company in the long term.

Munjal, The truth is I begged you to have it here. I like parties that are 1) in my house, requiring a minimal commute time, and 2) paid for by people other than me. :-)

It looks like we may hit 300 people, which is fine if it doesn't rain and we can use the back yard like previous parties. If it does rain things may get a little crazy.

Looking forward to it!

Mike
