I've always thought that once we can recognize people in photos and auto-tag them we will start to create something even bigger than just photo search. Dan Bricklin talks here about how old videos were a wormhole to the past. This is a theme that believe in strongly. I believe all of us want to be remembered and that photos and video are a powerful tool. However, after you die will anyone look at those? I wonder if Ojos (once it searches and auto-tags photos) will let my great great grandchildren find photos of me at many points in my life (access control is another issue but maybe once I'm dead I won't care much...;-). Could a search engine of my photos become a kind of digital tombstone for my life.... I dont' know but Dan's article brought me back to this idea. I started this blog by stating that "I wanted to live more than one lifetime".... Being remembered is an element of that for me.
