Robert Scoble found Shel's posting and no doubt from there mine. He comments, that Walt is more important. I continue to believe online blogs are more important to launching a new company. When Walt publishes an article about my new company I don't get a long thread (or mudpit) of comments and trackbacks giving me detailed feedback on my new product or potential product ideas. The print medium just doesn't support this. The initial launch of a company is not so much about getting the word out as it is about getting feedback and incorporating it into the product. The blogosphere does this in a unique way that just not possible in print. So Robert - reason #2 you are more important: I can learn more about how to fix my alpha / beta product from a hit on your site than from Walt.

Hey welcome to the 'sphere, Munjal =)
I tend to agree with you... "linklove" is better than "inklove", or at least, it tends to behave more like a friend and less like a casual acquaintance.
But I guess it depends what the story is. If your product is good enough and your story lucid enough, then the story tends to spread.
Earlier this year I started a blog with a Savile Row tailor called English Cut. What did that episode teach me?
Easy: "It's got to be a story that people take delight in telling".
Robert Scoble says one needs "passiona and authority" in order to do a decent business blog. Agreed, but to that I would also add, "Determination to connect".
Anyway, Godspeed!
Hugh

Munjal,
Among other things, Hugh is the marketing brain behind English Cut, one of the blogosphere's greatest success stories. He also etches some of those most outrageous cartoons I've ever seen. I find them an offence and an outrage and I love everyone of them. So Munjal, be nice to the bloke, he's got street creds like you wouldn't believe.

Tara gave me the Hughtrain today. I was so new to the sphere that I had no idea. He has some very interesting thoughts. Time to do more reading and listening.

Shel's right - English Cut is compelling, Hugh's art is great (I own some of his cards), and his "How to be Creative" piece even inspired this tired ol' entrepreneur earlier this year. Hugh welcoming you to the blogosphere is like getting a key(card) to the city.

Naval you never told me this... in what way did he inspire you?
